NASA discovers two new planets
Krjogja.com – AMERICA – NASA (United States Aeronautics and Space Administration) has discovered a rocky planet. This planet is called LP 890-9 c and is habitable.
The planet with a composition of 40% rock is larger than the Earth. NASA revealed that it discovered the planet by observing a smaller neighboring planet called LP 890-9 b.
NASA claims that these two planets are super-terrestrial or super-terrestrial planets (exoplanets) orbiting a star. However, NASA does not yet fully know whether the planet’s surface conditions are similar to those of Earth or not.
The two planets orbit a fairly cool star or red dwarf star called LP 890-9 and is 98 light-years from Earth. Planet LP 890-9b, which is closest to its star, was discovered by NASA using the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). NASA revealed that the planet is 30% larger than Earth with a temperature of around 123 degrees Celsius.
Thus the planet LP 890-9 c which is far from its star is in the habitable zone. The planet has a temperature of about 1.1 degrees Celsius which allows for the existence of liquid water. The planet was detected through the SPECULOOS telescope (Search for habitable Planets Eclipsing Ultra-cool Stars).
