XINHUA : Deputy Head of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate Thomas Zurbuchen last Saturday (15/5) congratulated China on the successful landing of the Tianwen-1 spacecraft on Mars.
Zurbuchen tweeted that China’s first Mars rover, the Zhurong rover had successfully landed on Mars, he and his party congratulated the Tianwen-1 group of the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA).
“Together with the global scientific community, I hope that this mission will make an important contribution to mankind’s understanding of this red planet,” said Zurbuchen.
Then, NASA’s official tweet account retweeted Zurbuchen’s post.
Rogozin, head of the Russian space company Roscosmos and head of the Solar System Exploration Project of the French National Space Research Center on the same day also congratulated the success.
On May 15, the Tianwen-1 spacecraft’s Zhurong rover successfully landed in the landing zone in the southern part of the Mars Utopia Planitia, leaving China’s mark on Mars for the first time, marking an important step in China’s interplanetary exploration journey.
