NASA’s Mars Creativity Helicopter has made the news for another reason. The helicopter captured three-dimensional images of the rocky structures on the surface of the Red Planet.

Creativity has now sent home a hologram of a rock-covered hill on Mars. The photo was taken during the thirteenth flight on September 4. The name of the geological target identified in the image is “Faillefeu”. This structure is located in the Seitah region south of Mars’ Jezero crater.
At about 33 feet (10 m) wide, the hill can be seen north of the center of the image, with several large rocks casting shadows. At the top of the image is part of ‘Artuby’, a ridge line more than half a mile (900) meters wide). At the bottom of the image, extending perpendicular to the center, are some of the many sand ripples that inhabit southern Sittah,” according to NASA.
Since the image is 3D, it can be seen better with 3D glasses.
