With a terrifying image from space… NASA celebrates Halloween
NASA celebrates Halloween with a terrifying image from space
The American space agency, NASA, celebrated Halloween by publishing a scary photo taken from space.
NASA explained that the image, which resembles a terrifying face, was taken by the Juno mission, last September 7, near Jupiter.
She confirmed that the image represents clouds and turbulent storms along the dividing line of Jupiter, which is the line dividing the day and night sides of the planet, where the low angle of sunlight highlights the complex topography of the features in this region, which scientists have studied to better understand the processes that occur in the atmosphere.
NASA indicated that the published image was created by a scientist named Vladimir Tarasov, who used raw data captured by the Juno spacecraft’s camera, at an altitude of 7,700 kilometers, above the tops of Jupiter’s clouds.
It is noteworthy that Halloween celebrations fall on October 31 of each year in the United States and a number of countries around the world, and are culturally linked to horror films, talking about ghosts, scary stories, and dressing up in strange costumes, a tradition whose roots go back to Ireland and has spread around the world.
