This river flows from the Andes Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean, crossing several countries, such as Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador. The Amazon River has the largest total flow of any river.
The Amazon carries more water than the Mississippi, Nile, and Yangtze Rivers combined.
7. Himalayan Mountains
The Himalayas can also be seen from the ISS. The Himalayas are a large mountain system in Asia that separates the Tibetan Plateau to the north and the alluvial plains of the Indian subcontinent to the south.
The Himalayas include the highest peaks in the world, especially Mount Everest. The Himalayas were formed due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
The Himalayas are one of the youngest mountains on earth. Etymologically, Himalaya means “abode of snow” in Sanskrit. The Himalayas extend along five countries, namely Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, China, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.
