NASA’s Solar and Heliosphere Observatory (SOHO) documented the dazzling spectacle of space Monday, capturing the moment when a massive coronal mass eruption erupts from the sun’s surface and dances in front of the star cluster known as the Pleiades, or Seven Sisters.
Coronal mass ejections, or CMEs, can launch high-energy particles, solar plasma, and additional magnetic chaos into space.
