NASA Captures Amazing Photo of Rare Ice Circles in the Air above Church in Germany

Jakarta

Not long ago the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), shared an amazing photo. The content is a rare phenomenon of ice circles in the air.

The view also reminds us of the ability of Elsa, the Snow Queen in the film Frozen, who was able to shoot crystals from her hands and build an ice palace. However, the fact is that this phenomenon was not caused by him.

This rare incident took place above a church near Fussen, Bavaria, Germany. It is known that this miracle was caused by frozen water crystals, it was reported detikINET from the Daily Mail, Wednesday (27/12/2023).

It was explained that this phenomenon could occur because the temperature was quite cold below 0 degrees Celsius. Then the water is suspended in the air and freezes into ice, giving rise to a thin mist.

Well, because these ice particles are relatively light, they feel at home in the air and can capture sunlight. Then the light reflects and refracts, which then creates an ice halo (an optical phenomenon whose shape can vary, ranging from rings, arcs, or spots).

If you look at the photo, you can see there are two halos of ice. Apart from that, there is also a curve in the shape of a hot air balloon, which is decorated with lines like a bow.

According to NASA, the bow is named Heliac. According to them, this form is the rarest.
