NASA announced that it has discovered the oldest galaxy in the universe: It formed 300 million years after the Big Bang

JWST imaged GN-z13 using its Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) instrument, which can detect light from the earliest stars and galaxies. This telescope uses a wide spectrum of infrared light to ‘go’ back in time by analyzing the time it takes for light to travel through space. While investigating GN-z13, JWST also detected GN-z11.
