The US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) intends to launch the Cygnus cargo spacecraft as part of its 19th commercial resupply service mission to the International Space Station, in August.
The mission will be launched in collaboration with Northrop Grumman, a US multinational defense and aerospace technology company, from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
Investigative sciences launched to the International Space Station include studies on fire suppression, gene therapy, atmospheric monitoring, and other experiments, as well as student artwork flown into space.
It is worth noting that NASA announced last March the launch of a new scientific mission to the International Space Station, to study heart diseases, life in space, and so on. The mission, launched by the unmanned Dragon spacecraft from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, was intended for the 27th Commercial Resupply Services for NASA’s SpaceX, and included conducting research, examining how the heart changes in space, and testing a camera mount from Student design, comparison of surfaces that control biofilm formation and the study of life in space.
