This is stated in forecast the development of the COVID-19 epidemic in Ukraine by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), promulgated on Tuesday, November 9.

According to scientists, in the past two weeks, the peak in the number of new coronavirus diseases has been passed. This is indicated by the dynamics of the number of positive PCR tests, which shows a decrease of 15% over the past 10 days.

At the same time, it is reported that the peak mortality and occupancy of hospitals has not yet been passed, an increase in the number of deaths is expected for another week.

“The observed mortality rate remained close to 3%, but the mortality rate for hospitalizations has renewed maximums, reaching 20%,” the forecast says.

Finally, scientists have calculated that the level of effectiveness of the COVID vaccines used in Ukraine against hospitalizations is 87% with full and 67% with partial immunization.

As reported, in Ukraine per day on November 8 833 people died from coronavirus, which is the highest figure since the beginning of the pandemic.
