FC Den Bosch played against FC Emmen on Friday evening in a sold-out Vliert. Despite the excellent atmosphere in the stands, the good play and the opportunities, the people of Den Bosch narrowly lost to FC Emmen. 1-2
Three changes after the match won against VVV-Venlo. Danny Verbeek, Nick de Groot and Rein van Hedel were in the starting line-up. This was at the expense of Shalve Ogbaidze, Mees Laros and Jaron Vicario. For Rein van Hedel this meant his basic debut in the main squad of FC Den Bosch.
Few to no real chances were created in the opening phase. Shortly before the first half hour had expired, FC Den Bosch arrived at the goal of visitors FC Emmen. A cross from Nick de Groot was cleverly extended by Danny Verbeek in the course of Rik Mulders. The advancing right back took a convincing shot, but the ball flew just past the wrong side of the post. A few minutes later it was Salah-Eddine Oulad M’hand who scored from distance. Goalkeeper Oelschlägel let the ball slip through his gloves, but the ball rolled over the goal line.
Yet it was FC Emmen that took the lead ten minutes before half time. A long ball from behind fell out of the ball at Parzyszek’s feet. The Polish striker suddenly took a swing and managed to find the net. 0-1 for FC Emmen. With this score there was a break halfway through the match.
Ten minutes into the second half, FC Den Bosch had its first chance. A nice heel from Rein van Hedel fell at the feet of Kacper Kostorz. The striker pushed the ball back to Rein van Hedel, after which the starting debutant took a swing but saw his shot blocked.
Just before the hour mark, FC Emmen doubled the score. Bradly van Hoeven provided a cross that Vicente Besuijen volleyed in at the far post. 0-2.
Fifteen minutes before the end, FC Den Bosch brought the tension back into the match. A free kick from Boumassaoudi fell at the feet of Ricardo Henning. The defender did not hesitate and delivered a devastating blow. The ball flew in with great speed, allowing the residents of Den Bosch to find a way back into this match. This was Ricardo Henning’s first goal for FC Den Bosch!
FC Den Bosch continued to push for the equalizer after the tying goal. Five minutes before the end this also resulted in a great opportunity. Van Bakel tried to take a shot from close range but his shot was blocked. After this, Kostorz was able to swing from the left, but his shot went wide of the goal. The residents of Den Bosch continued to report to FC Emmen’s goal.
At the beginning of injury time, FC Den Bosch was close again. Luke Mbete headed Rik Mulders’ cross onto the crossbar. The Manchester City loanee’s effort hit the crossbar twice, after which the ball ended up on the roof of the goal. FC Emmen managed to resist the pressure from FC Den Bosch during the additional playing time. In the last home match, FC Den Bosch narrowly lost to FC Emmen. 1-2.
