In concert this Thursday evening at L’Arena de Narbonne, the singer and actor made a detour to Ouveillan, a village which welcomed him in 2000 for Les Vendanges du cœur, including today’s mayor, Jean-Paul Chaluleau , was the linchpin. The opportunity for the latter to thank the artist for his loyalty to the town that he does not hesitate to highlight as soon as an opportunity arises.
Relaxed, without fuss, in all simplicity, Patrick Bruel stopped for a few minutes in Ouveillan, this Thursday, at 2 p.m. Before heading back to Narbonne, where he was preparing to rehearse for the same evening concert at L’Arena, the artist responded to the invitation of the mayor of the town, Jean-Paul Chaluleau, with whom a friendship sincere was tied during the famous Vendanges du cœur. “It was in 2000. At the suggestion of Jean-Jacques Goldman, Patrick responded favorably to our invitation to give a concert for the benefit of the Restos du Coeur. We did not know each other and we liked each other right away. Since then, it’s a story of friendship and loyalty between us, but also with Ouveillan”, noted the first magistrate who wished to award him the medal of the City, the very first of his mandate. The opportunity for him to recount the memories of almost 22 years ago, but also to highlight the many initiatives of the singer in favor of the municipality, of his promotion: “I remember a TV show, where you did not hesitate to promote the wines of the village”noted Jean-Paul Chaluleau.
The human character, of sharing which are the values of Restos
Patrick Bruel, for his part, received “with pride” the medal stamped with the coat of arms of the municipality: “When Jean-Jacques Goldman told me about you and your initiative, I immediately said yes. I still have bottles of the 2000 cuvée at home. You introduced Ouveillan to many people, you makes a lot of people happy. And then, beyond the charitable work, there is the environment, the human character, the sharing which are the values of the Restos.”
Back in October?
Even if the auction continues and still brings in handsome sums for the association, the artist could only regret the end of the summer concerts in 2015: “It would be nice to continue, wouldn’t it?”he asked. “We are going to do something”replied the mayor who does not despair of welcoming Patrick Bruel to Ouveillan, again in October, for the festival “Les Enfants du cinema” where Patrick Bruel could present the feature film “A bag of marbles”, released in 2017.
In the meantime, the singer has returned to the road, that of the tour he had put on hold last December due to Covid: “It feels good to be together and to stick together: especially these days…”
