Vijay Babu is all set to make his screenplay for the first time written by the late director Naranipuzha Shanavas. Producer and actor Vijay Babu announced the film at a function in Kochi to commemorate Shanavas. Vijay Babu has announced on social media that he is planning to make a film with a script titled ‘Salma’.
“A group of people close to Shanavas met today. At my request, Shanavas’ first screenplay ‘Salma’ was handed over to me by his wife Azu Shanavas. I will make every effort to make Salma a film. Vijay Babu wrote on Facebook.
He died of a heart attack on December 23. The films directed by Shanavas are Sufi, Sujatha and Kari.
Friday Film House, owned by Vijay Babu, has also announced its decision to launch an award for short film directors in the name of Shanavas. Short films of no more than five minutes must be submitted for the competition. Selected short films will be screened on the Friday Film House’s YouTube channel. Along with the Naranipuzha Shanavas Award for Best Short Film, he will also have the opportunity to present the script of a feature film in front of the Friday Film House.
