Napoli qualify for the final Italian Super Cup 2023 after beating Fiorentina in the semifinals. Last season’s Serie A champions won 3-0.
From Napoli vs Fiorentina in the semifinals of the 2023 Italian Super Cup held at Al-Awwal Park, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Friday (19/1/2024) early morning WIB.
Napoli opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Giovanni Simeone. Receiving the ball from Juan Jesus, Simeone beat the Fiorentina goalkeeper with a right foot kick.
Fiorentina scored a goal after Beltran threw the ball into Napoli’s goal. However, the goal was disallowed because Giacomo Bonaventura was offside in the process of scoring the goal.
Fiorentina received a penalty in the 44th minute following Mario Rui’s foul on Jonathan Ikone. However, Ikone’s penalty execution did not result in a goal after his shot bounced over the crossbar.
Napoli added a goal in the 84th minute. A corner kick was deflected by a header and Alessio Zerbin at the far post passed it into the goal.
Zerbin scored his second goal of the match in the 86th minute to solidify Napoli’s victory. Dribbling the ball from the middle of the field, Zerbin then fired a shot from the edge of the penalty box. His shot went into the bottom corner of Fiorentina’s goal.
Qualifying for the final of the Italian Super Cup, Napoli will face the winner of the other semifinal match between Inter Milan and Lazio.
