Naples has yet to give up demanding justice, despite the appeal for a 0-3 defeat of Juventus rejected by the Italian Court of Sport. They are now going to appeal to CONI.
Napoli’s appeal for defeat Walk Out (WO) 0-3 from Juventus and a point deduction in Serie A to no avail. The punishment was previously given by Lega Serie A to Il Partenopei because they refused to face the Bianconeri in a match that was supposed to be held last October 4.
Napoli argued that they did not go to Allianz Stadium after the local health authorities (ASL) asked their squad to isolate themselves. This step was taken because two Napoli players, Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas, tested positive COVID-19.
However, the Lega Serie A did not accept Napoli’s reasons. The reason is, according to Serie A health protocol, the team still has to compete as long as it still has 13 players with one of them a goalkeeper.
Napoli’s defense was also not accepted by the Italian Court of Appeals for Sport in their appeal. The Italian Sports Court considered the team from Naples deliberately not coming to Juventus’ cage. This makes the penalty 0-3 to Juventus and one point deduction for Napoli still in effect.
Napoli are so disappointed that their appeal was rejected by the Italian Court of Sport. Even so, they refused to give up on demanding justice. Napoli confirmed that they would appeal again to CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee).
“SSC Napoli is preparing an appeal to the Collegio di Garanzia dello Sport from CONI,” read the official Napoli statement.
“The club totally disapproves of the sentence which does not justify the club’s behavior. They have ignored documents that very clearly support us and delegate local health authorities (ASL).”
“SSC Napoli always strives to defend the values of justice and the values of sport, so in this case we will also follow every legal route to ensure justice for our actions.”

Defeat 0-3 above Juventus this is clearly very detrimental to Napoli who was looking charming at the start of this season. Napoli are currently in third place in the Italian League standings, only three points adrift of AC Milan who are at the top.
