“We cannot lose the affection and care of these children, we cannot lose our second family.” These are the words of Raniero Gallo, former patient of a day institute of Mental Hygiene in the square today in Naples in support of the protest of 300 social workers from Gesco, subject of dismissal by ASL Napoli1.

Today’s protest in Piazza del Plebiscito, which follows other initiatives by operators in recent days, also saw for the first time the presence of clients and their families who, with the layoffs, fear the loss of points of reference which, for years, they have been helping them and their loved ones cope problems related to the management of the elderly, disabled, people with addiction problems, Alzheimer’s patients, mental health sufferers.
