The exhibition, titled “Naples in Paris”, occupies 3 locations in the museum: the grande galerie, the halle de la chapelle and the halle de l’horloge.
The exhibition includes nearly 70 works of art from the Italian Museum, which is undergoing renovations from 2024. The works of the Italian Museum were collected before the unification of Italy, by the Farnese, Bourbon and Bonaparte-Moura families.
In addition to the hundreds of works already in the collections of the Louvre Museum, visitors to the world-famous French museum can learn about the best creations of Italian painting from the 15th to the 17th centuries.
The exhibition presents the most beautiful portraits that were completed between Venice, Rome and Florence, between 1515 and 1535, as well as masterpieces bearing the signature of prominent names in Italian art such as Caravaggio, Masaccio, Bellini, Ribera and Parmigianino, in addition to Tiziano, Carracci and Reni.
