Naomi Osaka won their fourth Grand Slam title on Saturday by beating America Jennifer Brady in straight sets at Rod Laver Arena to win the open d’Australie Women’s singles title 2021. Osaka recorded a 6-4, 6-3 win in one hour and 17 minutes to win his fourth Grand Slam title in his fourth appearance in a Grand Slam final. The only other players to have won their first four Open Era Slam Finals (since 1968) are Roger Federer et Monica Seles.
On top of that, she is only the fourth player in women’s singles and the seventh overall to be on the list of active players to have won four or more Grand Salm titles. The elite roster that Osaka joined on Saturday includes Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

With her fourth Slam title on Saturday, Osaka is tied with Kim Clijsters, Hana Mandlikova and Arantxa Sanchez, who also have the same number of Grand Slam titles to their names. She has outperformed Jennifer Capriati, Lindsay Davenport and Angelique Kerber, all of whom have three.
This is the second title when Osaka wins the Australian Open just after becoming the US Open champion the year before. Osaka had won their first and second Grand Slam titles in the same way in 2018 and 2019.
With Saturday’s victory, Osaka now has 14 consecutive Grand Slam wins and a 21-game winning streak.
Before the final, Osaka said she came from a mentality where she thought no one really remembered the finalist. The person may be remembered but the name that is engraved in the trophies is that of the winner and therefore they want to win these big titles.
She did exactly that on Saturday.
Brady started nervously and broke early in the first set although Osaka struggled to secure her first serves. However, Brady then calmed his nerves and pushed Osaka back. From there, the two women clashed and even saved some breaking points to stay resilient. With Osaka leading 5-4 and Brady staying in the first set, Brady had a moment to forget when she missed a single forehand to hand the first set to the Japanese.
Osaka started the second fire by managing to find his first serves and show his dominant forehand and backhand. Osaka used all of their brilliance to blast Brady off the start and take a 4-0 lead in the second set. However, Brady fought hard and even broke Osaka once, but the iconic figure held his nerves while serving for the match and won his service match 40-0 to win the title.
