Naomi Osaka Knocked Out in Tokyo Olympics Third Round

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

world number two women’s tennis player, Naomi Osaka, was surprisingly eliminated in the third round Tokyo 2020 Olympics at Ariake Tennis Park, Tuesday (27/7) afternoon WIB.

Osaka appeared disappointing when defeated by the Czech tennis player, Marketa Vondrousova. The host tennis player was not able to bring out the best ability so that he could easily be defeated by Vondrousova who is ranked 42 in the world.

Osaka made a lot of mistakes in the first gym. He did 11 unforced error which made it easy for Vondrousova to lead quickly 4-1 in the first set.

Osaka has never been able to improve its performance in the remaining two games. As a result, Vondrousova was able to win the next two games to win easily 6-1 in the first set in 24 minutes.

In the second game Osaka played better. The 23-year-old can take the first two games to take a 2-0 lead over Vondrousova.

However, Osaka did not manage to maintain its performance. As a result, the situation turned around because Vondrousova was able to win the next three games to turn 3-2 ahead.

Osaka had won the sixth and eighth games to make the score 3-3 and 4-4. However, Vondrousova who appeared full of confidence could win the next two games to win 6-4 in the second set.

Osaka’s failure could not be separated from her inability to minimize her own mistakes. In total he made 32 unforced error in the match against Vondrousova.

The defeat suffered by Osaka continued the bad luck of the seeded player at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Previously, first seed Ashleigh Barty was eliminated in the first round and third seed Aryna Sabalenka entered the box in the second round of tennis at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
