Nantes boycott in turn
No wonder, then, that a number of cities are starting to boycott this sporting event. After Strasbourg, Lille, Paris, Lyon or even Bordeaux (but also Villeurbanne, Caluire and Vénissieux in the Metropolis), it is the turn of Nantes. Nantes city hall announced on Thursday 6 October that it will not publicly broadcast any World Cup matches.
If the city of Nantes takes the lead, the bars do as they want. But for those wishing to boycott the World Cup, the site “Bring the cup to reason” proposes to list the establishments which undertake not to broadcast matches anywhere in France.
