From March 16 to 18, 2021, the ISG Nantes campus participated in the operation BLOOD SPRING initiated by the IONIS group. The latter aims to sensitize as many students as possible to the cause and to defuse received ideas conveyed by fear.
Since 2008, the IONIS group has therefore endeavored to furnish the campuses of all its schools and wishes to prevent and inform a large number of students to encourage them to donate blood. In fact, the EFS has seen a 90% drop in engagement in schools and universities. The health situation has also reduced the number of new donors by 25% in 2020. The needs do not decrease and the objective of 10,000 donations per day to meet the expectations of all patients has not decreased.
ISG Nantes Campus investment
The ISG Nantes campus has therefore invested heavily in its students:
- Important awareness campaign on social networks
- Quiz on preconceived ideas
- Information on the donation sent regularly by email
- Provision of dedicated donation slots for students of the ISG Nantes campus
- Distribution of donation-specific health questionnaires
- Availability of the team to answer all the fears and questions of the students
In total, thirty students from Nantes got involved this year and we really want to thank them very much. The feedback from this operation is very positive. Most of those who did not wish to donate blood evoke reasons related to their health, the sanitary situation or their age (a minor student cannot donate blood). However, they have all realized the extent of the needs of theEFS and will not hesitate to donate when the time is right.
A very positive experience
For all donors, the experience is 100% positive:
Hermance: “It went really well! Go donate your blood! It’s cool, they are very nice and in addition we have the right to a quality snack! “
Lauriane: “I was a little afraid that it would hurt but not at all! It does not last long, we are well accompanied, the people are adorable! “
You too, donate blood ! One donation can save three lives.
