Nantes pays tribute to Valéry Giscard d ?? Estaing, former President of the French Republic

The City Council gathered on Friday, December 4, observed a minute of silence in tribute to the former President of the Republic. Nantes elected officials have symbolically cut their videoconferencing cameras in order to reveal black screens as a sign of mourning.

All the flags floating on the buildings of the City of Nantes and on the public space will be at half mast on Wednesday December 9, national day of mourning: city hall, district town halls, public nursery and elementary schools as well as on the Place du Cirque , Place Viarme, Cours Saint-André and Place du Pont-Morand.

A condolence booklet in Nantes town hall

Until Saturday inclusive, a condolence booklet will be placed in the reception hall of the town hall, so that everyone can register a tribute to Valéry Giscard d’Estaing. The health instructions on site will be recalled and hydro-alcoholic gel will be used before writing on the booklet.
