The city of Nantes announced on March 25, 2024 that it was launching “its own competition to recruit municipal police officers”, a skill usually delegated to management centers. The socialist municipality, which plans to recruit 50 municipal police officers by the end of 2025, hopes to “be more visible locally, and attract candidates who will be more likely to stay in Nantes at the end of the competition”. The Loire-Atlantique management center will also organize this year a guard-brigadier competition, focused on the city of Nantes, but on a less tight schedule.
