Second and third in the Liqui Moly Starligue behind the unattainable PSG, Nantes and Aix won this Friday evening during the 23rd day, against Saran and Créteil respectively.
Logic respected this Friday evening during the four matches on the program for the 23rd day of Liqui Moly Starligue. Nantes, the dolphin of PSG, signed an 18th victory, to the detriment of Saran, the first non-relegation. The H largely won 36-21 in a one-sided match where they widened the gap throughout the game (21-10, mt), thanks in particular to a shooting success percentage of 71 (47 % for Saran). Linus Persson and Lucas de la Bretèche finished with 6 goals each, while Emil Nielsen managed 50% saves (9 in total). Javier Munoz Cabezon’s 8 goals were not enough for the Loiret players. Aix are in third place three points behind Nantes after their 30-26 victory over Créteil (10th). The Aixois never trembled during this game either, leading 18-11 at half-time and counting ten goals ahead nine minutes from the end (30-20), before conceding a 6-0 without consequence. Romain Lagarde and Matthieu Ong carried the PAUC, with 7 goals each, while Wesley Pardin stopped 13 shots. On the Cristolian side, Boïba Sissoko finished with 5 goals and Todor Jandric with 9 saves.
Chartres collapses in Nîmes
While waiting for Montpellier to move to St-Raphaël on Saturday, Toulouse (5th) is back one point behind the MHB thanks to its 26-36 victory at Limoges (13th). If the final score is wide, the Fenix took its time before flying away, because the gap was only +3 at half-time (17-20) and +4 at the 42nd (21- 25), but the Limougeauds cracked in the last minutes, notably conceding a 5-0. Toulouse’s Uros Borzas and Limougeaud’s Jure Dolenec both scored 8 goals. Finally, the last match of the evening saw the logical victory of Nîmes (7th) over Chartres (11th): 39-34 in a match with twists and turns. The Chartres players indeed led from the 14th to the 49th minute (18-22, mt) before suffering a terrible 9-0 which allowed the Gardois to pass ten minutes from the end and win. Mohammad Sanad shone again for USAM, with 13 goals on the clock (8 saves for Rémi Desbonnet), while Vanja Ilic scored 7 for Chartres.
