Nanterre, Cholet and Nancy won this Saturday evening for the 21st day of Betclic ELITE.
In addition to Gravelines-Dunkerque’s first away victory this season, Nanterre, Cholet and Nancy won this Saturday evening for the 21st day of Betclic ELITE. As at Beaublanc, Pascal Donnadieu’s team dominated a Limoges CSP team which has not been able to do so for three weeks. As in the first leg, Keith Hornsby shone (25 points at 7/10 from 3-pointers). On fire behind the arc, the shooter had scored 14 points in the first quarter and his team took the lead (25-18) to finally not leave it and win 87-70 (stats). Enough to sign an eighth victory and take the CSP out of the top 8 (with 10 wins in 21 matches).
Strasbourg is at the same level after its defeat against Cholet at Rhénus (90-92). Tired, the SIG fought with a limited squad (eight professional players), came back several times but did not manage to snatch the extension on a last missed shot from Marcus Keene (29 points at 6/12 behind the ‘bow). The Choletais of Justin Patton (22 points at 10/13 and 7 rebounds for 26 evaluation in 31 minutes) recover after their setback in Nancy and remain only third in Betclic ELITE with 14 wins in 21 matches.
In an important game for the maintenance, SLUC Nancy managed to get rid of Le Portel who remained on three wins in a row. In a very physical and very close match (88 to 86 in the collective evaluation), the Lorrainers took the upper hand to snatch an eighth success and come back up to the ESSM. “It was a real struggle, a four-point game, a game where every possession is worth gold”recognized Sylvain Lautié in The Republican East after the meeting.
