The Toyota factory in Indonesia is now changing leadership. Still an Indonesian, PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) is now led by Nandi Julyanto.
Nandi Julyanto has officially replaced Warih Andang Tjahjono as President Director of PT TMMIN since 1 July 2023. Nandi is the second Indonesian to be at the helm of the Toyota factory in Indonesia.
With the new captain, it is expected to strengthen and increase Toytoa’s contribution to the national automotive industry. Especially now that Indonesia has entered the era of electrification.
Every manufacturer is required to present environmentally friendly vehicles. Toyota has also prepared a variety of electrification vehicles to support the government’s target of decarbonization.
“Being an Indonesian who leads more than 8,000 TMMIN human resources is a mandate and a big responsibility. Going forward, TMMIN is determined to continue to contribute to the national automotive industry by developing more local production of vehicles with a more diverse electrification technology and their components including batteries that are answering the needs of Indonesian families to various foreign consumers,” said Nandi.
Nandi is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from Gadjah Mada University. started his career at TMMIN since 1992 through a management trainee program. In 1993, Nandi had the opportunity to take part in the ICT (Intra Company Transferee) program at TMC Japan (Overseas Production Engineering Division).
Then he continued his career in Indonesia as section head of Assembly & Painting Engineering Service. Since then, the man’s career, who is also a frequent speaker at various seminars at home and abroad, has continued to rise to become the General Manager of the Assembly & Painting Division in 2006.
Until finally Nandi was lined up to become Director of Production Engineering & Vehicle Manufacturing since 2015. His career has shined even more after being entrusted with becoming Deputy President Director of TMMIN, in 2021.
Loyalty for more than 30 years to a wealth of experience in manufacturing and taking various leadership trainings, is TMC’s advantage and belief in appointing Nandi as a child of the nation who continues to be the captain of TMMIN’s leadership.
