Lionel Courchinoux is just 30 years old. Arrived from Côte d’Ivoire to Haut-du-Lièvre almost 20 years ago, he studied literature, then journalism. He is now a journalist at Radio Caraïbes Nancy, but also and, above all, a rap singer. His first solo single is to be discovered today.
“Music has been with me since childhood. My mother was a singer in a Gospel choir and I accompanied her with pleasure to her rehearsals, even if, I admit, I was more passionate about football. In college, I fell in love with writing. I filled entire notebooks with texts in prose or verse. Everything inspired me: imagining the continuation of a song or the life of people I met in the street… Finally, as a teenager, I fell in love with rap”, explains Lionel.

He won the Buzz Booster Grand-Est
Passionate? It really is, and in many areas: literature, opera, Afro-American music or even cooking… and always football. In his own words, he’s an epicurean and he’s enjoying life to the fullest.
One wonders how he can carry out so many activities at the same time: his job, the writing workshops he leads, musical composition and concerts. Because if his first solo single was released this Friday, January 21, Lisko is already a veteran of rap. In 2009, he created the group MTB Crew and, for 7 years, scoured the local and national scenes by sharing them with many artists such as: Gael Faye, Tal, Jazzy Bazz, Demi Portion, Panam Panic, La Fouine… It was in 2017, after winning the Buzz Booster Grand-Est, that he decided to embark on the solo adventure. His album is in preparation and should be released in the spring.
