On the TER railway line between Nancy, Metz and Luxembourg, you will have to be patient for just over a month. The reason ? “As part of its railway infrastructure renovation and modernization program, SNCF Réseau will carry out works until mid-December. This first phase is essential to preserve traffic safety ”, indicates the SNCF.
“The main project is to replace the tracks (rail, sleepers and ballast) between Thionville and Zoufftgen. This project will continue in the 1st quarter of 2023. The cost of this work is approximately 42 million euros, entirely financed by SNCF Réseau. This work is done at night, “says the SNCF.
In 2023, the work to come
The Grand Est Region indicates for its part: “These works will be carried out at night by means of a“ factory train ”, also called“ Suite Rapide ”, allowing more efficient results. Furthermore, from mid-January 2023, rail traffic on the Nancy – Metz – Luxembourg axis will also be affected by another major track and ballast renewal project located south of Metz between Novéant and Metz, also carried out at night.
