Dear Quizzticle Class

People often talk about the incredibly high and ever-increasing sums of money floating around in football. That may be true for subscription costs, stadium admission and player salaries, but things are a little different when it comes to transfer fees. The most expensive transfer in 2001 was around 2.5 million euros more expensive than this year’s most expensive summer transfer. Adjusted for inflation, the 2001 transfer was almost 50 million more expensive than this year’s record transfer.

Today you can guess these two and 23 other most expensive summer transfers. More precisely, the most expensive summer transfers of the past 25 years. You have to guess one transfer for each summer.

So have fun with Rötlen!

And this is how it works:

  • Name the 25 football players we are looking for.
  • To help you, you will receive the two clubs involved in the transfer as well as the transfer fee at the time in euros.
  • The order doesn’t matter.
  • Make sure the spelling is correct. The players’ last names also count.
  • Alternatives and nicknames may also apply, but we cannot consider all variants.
  • There’s a countdown, you have ten minutes.
  • Press “Play” and off you go!
