The zoo du bronx relaunches its emblematic program “Name-A-Roach“. It is indeed possible, with a contribution of give a giant cockroach or Madagascar hissing cockroach the name of one of your exes or your loved one !! As much as the name of an ex can be understood given the disgusting nature of the creature!! But your loved one, seriously? Roses and chocolates come and go, while the cockroach, an ultra-resistant species, lasts forever! Just like Love! 😉 So, are you convinced?

How to adopt a cockroach?
You have until February 8 to place an order to receive it before Valentine’s Day. It will cost you $15 to receive a digital certificate with the name given to your cockroach. For $35, you can also have a video meeting with your cockroach. Still for $35 you can choose to receive your certificate with a pair of cockroach socks. $50 for a certificate and 2 pairs, $75 if you also want the virtual meeting. For $40 you will receive a cockroach plush toy and ultimate combo at $85 offers you the certificate; the stuffed animal, 2 pairs of socks and the virtual meeting. Just that ! 😉 If you chose to name the cockroach in homage to your ex, you can even have the certificate sent to them!

Adopting a cockroach is for a good cause
The action may make you smile, but the cause is noble. The amounts collected will be automatically donated to the Wildlife Conservation Society. It is an association that aims to protect biodiversity around the world. So, you can do this for fun, but on the other hand, you can contribute to the well-being of the planet. It is even possible to go further by participating on February 10 in the “Roach Romance” (the romance of the cockroach). There you can meet members of the society and learn more about protected species, while tasting delicious chocolates and wine. You will learn more, particularly about the importance of insects in chocolate production. Just to stay within the original theme.
