Ängelholms FF surprisingly took the lead through Johan Oremo in the Swedish Cup meeting at home, before Adi Nalic nodded in the equalizer on a corner just before half time. Veljko Birmancevic put MFF 2-1 on a free kick after an hour of play, before turbulence arose in an attack shortly afterwards.
–
Ängelholm’s Anton Hallbäck and Nalic looked for each other after a blowout, and the latter received a movement with his head towards the ÄFF player, who left. The referee showed Nalic’s Kasper Sjöberg the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
–
Even before Birmancevic’s full hit, the duo were involved in a sequence when the home player dropped a free Nalic, but Sjöberg chose to give Hallbäck a yellow card and not expel a free kick.
–
– I do not know what to say, I get kicked twice. They will be deported. I get up after two hard bangs and walk towards the throw-in. He (Hallbäck) seeks me out and then there is a little contact between us when I stumble. It looks like I’m going against him and they start shouting and reinforcing it which means I get an expulsion on the purchase, says Adi Nalic and continues:
–
– I’m very sorry it happened that way. I just told the team that I apologize and that it was not on purpose. We all make mistakes, we learn from them but as I said, it looked worse what it really was. There was no contact.
–
You did not touch him?
– No, I did not touch him. He sought me out and went in my way to provoke.
–
What did the judge say?
– I do not know, I was so frustrated and shocked by the expulsion so I have no idea. I was very sad but luckily it did not affect the result, then it would have been even harder.
–
MFF scored three more goals despite the numerical disadvantage and won 5-1. Now a decisive meeting awaits against the group’s second full scorer IFK Värnamo. A match that Nalic misses.
–
– It feels very sour and I’m very sorry for that. I always want to be able to help the team because I am a team player. That said, I just want to apologize. It is so frustrating, it is impossible to describe in words, says Nalic.
–
MFF coach Milos Milojevic says he did not see the situation clearly.
–
– The distance was too long, and direct red means shutdown – there is nothing to say. I hope he learns from his own mistake and does not repeat it.
–
– He does not need any major fines from us, because he punished himself with the suspension and can not play the most important match so far. It is something he has to learn, and of course he is sad and apologized to the players, says Milos Milojevic.
