Who has never dreamed of traveling back in time, moreover in one of the most beautiful villages in France like that of Najac? The photo exhibition “Najac, yesterday and today” opens this door that plunges back more than 120 years. It will transport in photos, in emblematic places of the village and in a new way: each of these is presented by an old photo and a recent photo of Gwenaël Hubert, taken from the same point of view.
Another element, this exhibition, whose official inauguration is scheduled for tomorrow Friday July 21 at 6:30 p.m. (and visible until Thursday August 31) also takes the tangent of itinerancy in certain points of the town (Saint-Jean , Fortress, Governor’s House, library, L’Insolite restaurant, Delmur bakery, Conciergerie, Tourist Office, Oustal del Barry). Thus it will transport the visitor with a lot of shots in these emblematic places of Najac.
Passionate about photography from an early age, Gwenaël Hubert, who lives between Paris and Najac, never leaves his camera. This allows him to capture that fleeting moment that every photographer dreams of. This idea of taking up the same views of Najac, already transcribed on postcards, brought up to date years later, had been running through his head for a long time. The concept being to measure the influence of time on this village that he particularly likes.
As an extension of the exhibition, the Maison du Gouverneur is offering a family workshop on Wednesdays July 26, August 9 and 16 at 2:30 p.m. on the theme of “time travel”. The idea is to allow participants to go back in time by diving into Najac from the beginning of the 20th century. Reservation on 05 65 81 94 47.
