“Nahuel Guzmán Equals Mexican Soccer Legend Record for Clean Sheets”

Hidalgo Sports. Agencies.- Nahuel Guzmán became a Mexican soccer legend by equaling a historic mark after leaving Chivas goalless in the first leg of the Clausura 2023 Final. The Tigres goalkeeper has once again demonstrated his ability to maintain his undefeated arc, establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the country.

With this performance, Patón Guzmán equaled the record of Miguel ‘Superman’ Marín, who managed to keep a clean sheet during five League Final games with Cruz Azul. This achievement highlights the defensive strength and quality of the Argentine goalkeeper, who has left his mark.

In addition to matching Marín’s mark, Nahuel Guzmán has also reached another impressive milestone by keeping a clean sheet in 137 Liga MX games. This record surpasses the previous mark of Federico Vilar, who achieved 137 zeros throughout his career in teams like Atlante, Morelia and Xolos.

It’s even more impressive considering that Nahuel has accomplished this feat in just nine years in Mexico, compared to the 13 years it took Vilar.

When it comes to Liguilla games, the Tigres goalkeeper has kept his goalless arc on 26 occasions, surpassing the marks of Hernán Cristante and Óscar Pérez, who achieved 23 and 22 games without conceding goals, respectively.

In total, Nahuel Guzmán has kept a clean sheet in 168 of the 418 games he has played with Tigres, of which 137 have been in Liga MX and 26 in the Liguilla phase, including the Repechage.
