Julian Nagelsmann It’s not even been a month since he started his career at Bayern Munich. He’s been plagued by future rumors Robert Lewandowski.
Nagelsmann has been appointed as Bayern Munich coach with the goal of returning to glory in Europe. Because Bayern only won the Bundesliga title last season after the previous year sweeping six titles.
So Nagelsmann arguably has a tough task with Bayern this season. Despite his experience at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, Bayern is a different club to Nagelsmann.
There will be great demands to always bring trophies and if it fails, Nagelsmann is ready to be sacked. Unfortunately, there has been a disturbance for Nagelsmann when he has only been in charge of the team this week.
There are rumors about the future of Lewandowski, who is Bayern’s mainstay striker. This was preceded by Lewandowski’s words last May who wanted to try out other competitions, before retiring.
So it’s only natural that big clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea, who are looking for a top striker this summer, are in line. City even immediately switched their hunt to Lewandowski after a 100 million euro offer for Harry Kane was rejected by Tottenham Hotspur.
With two years remaining on his contract, Bayern Munich could have made a lot of money selling Lewandowski at this time. Nagelsmann admits this is very disturbing.
“I think the rumors about Lewandowski have been frequent, even since he joined Bayern Munich,” he said Julian Nagelsmann to Sky Germany.
“I think it’s natural that many clubs are interested in a goal-hungry striker like him,” continued Nagelsmann.
“I think Robert knows what he has in Munich, what he has in this team. I’ve spoken and exchanged messages with him. I don’t like talking about contracts when I first contact a player.”
