The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confirmed that it has not banned Indomie Instant Noodles. Reports claiming that the product has been banned by the regulatory body due to traces of ethylene oxide found in Taiwanese and Malaysian health officials’ investigations are misleading. NAFDAC’s Director-General assures the public that the Indomie noodles produced in Nigeria are safe for consumption, and the agency will conduct tests to ensure that they do not contain ethylene oxide. Dufil Prima Foods Limited, which produces the Indomie Instant Noodles consumed in Nigeria for almost three decades, also affirms that it adheres strictly to standard procedures set by NAFDAC and the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) and uses only the finest ingredients in their manufacturing processes.
