KRONSTORF/VIENNA. Upper Austrian Nadine Pfaffeneder, who lives in Vienna, lives in two worlds. The model from Kronstorf was recently on duty at one of the biggest fashion weeks in the world, the fashion week in Milan. The 22-year-old has recently returned from the fashion metropolis and is now dedicating herself to caring for the elderly and people again.
Once again this year, superstars such as Naomi Campbell, Kylie Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Graham and Toni Garrn followed the fashion shows in Milan and also saw Nadine Pfaffeneder on the catwalk there. But when it comes to caring for the elderly, all eyes are also on the 22-year-old young entrepreneur: “For me, this is really a matter of the heart; I couldn’t imagine a more fulfilling job,” says the Kronstorf native about her second source of income.
In demand internationally as a model
How did this unusual combination come about? Nadine’s modeling career took off when she moved to the 1st Place Models agency and international bookings in Germany and Milan quickly followed. Pfaffeneder was already booked for the big fashion week in Milan in spring 2023, and this time she was able to prevail in the castings. Due to the Corona economic crisis, the 22-year-old decided to build up a second source of income and founded her own sole proprietorship in the area of elderly and personal care.
Two professions require compromises
In the end, both careers developed splendidly and Nadine Pfaffeneder became one of the currently most successful Austrian models, while at the same time her company quickly made profits and was able to expand. Since the young entrepreneur is passionate about both professions, she often has to make compromises. On the one hand, she wants to be represented by her own company, but on the other hand, she also foregoes good opportunities in the modeling industry: “For example, after Milan, I had a fixed model movement in Greece, my management is now trying to catch up on that next year.” She is also involved in individual modeling assignments become selective: “That’s the nice thing about my situation, I can choose who I want to work with and don’t have to sell myself below my worth.” The collaboration with her management, 1st Place Models, also works very well: “My agency makes an effort very responsive to my wishes and reacting to them.”
Return to Milan
In the run-up to Christmas she will go to Milan again briefly, but only for a few weeks. However, the time between these engagements belongs to those in need of care. Nadine is looking forward to this at least as much as standing on the world’s big catwalks. And her charges are also a little proud of their beautiful supervisor.
