Nadeo Argawinata replace Syahrul Trisna for the goalkeeper position in the final squad Indonesian National team Of 2023 Asian Cup. The 1973 Persikabo goalkeeper was reportedly injured.
“Syahrul Trisna was absent from the 2023 Qatar Asian Cup due to injury, his position was replaced by Nadeo Argawinata. Wish Syahrul a speedy recovery & give Nadeo a warm welcome,” wrote the official statement from the Indonesian National Team on social media.
This is a change to the second final squad for the Indonesian National Team in the Asian Cup. Previously there was also a change with the entry of Adam Alis who replaced Saddil Ramdani.
Until now, the reason for Saddil’s removal, who was replaced by Adam Alis, is not yet known. It’s just that Adam Alis has been with the Indonesian National Team squad since the Training Camp (TC) in Turkey starting December 21 2023.
Temporary Nadeo Indonesian National Team Coach Shin Tae-yong was not called for TC preparations for the Asian Cup. The goalkeepers called up were Syahrul, Muhammad Riyandi and Ernando Ari.
Before TC, Shin Tae-yong revealed why he preferred Syahrul over Nadeo. He said Syahrul was a calmer figure than Nadeo.
“Syahrul is a very calm player during matches. Yesterday he often competed with Nadeo (Argawinata),” said Shin Tae-yong, at that time,
“Sometimes he (Syahrul) plays, sometimes Nadeo. But when Syahrul plays, the chances of conceding are smaller. So in the end I chose him (Syahrul),” he said.
