Nadal suffered a hip injury in January during his participation in the Australian Open tennis tournament (the first Grand Slam tournament), to miss all tournaments since then, and he lost many points in the world rankings and his ranking fell.

Nadal, 35, announced via his Twitter account today, Friday, his absence from the Barcelona Open tennis tournament, and said: “I do not feel ready to play and I will continue my preparations to return to competition in the future.”

And after his absence from the Barcelona Championship in Spain on clay courts, the tournament is added to a series of tournaments that Nadal missed, as he did not participate in Indian Wells, Miami and the Monte Carlo tournament, in a bad season for the Spanish star.

It is noteworthy that due to Nadal’s absence from most of the tournaments in 2023, the player has fallen in the ranking to the 15th place in the world tennis rankings, and he hopes to return strongly in the upcoming competitions in order to restore the level and achieve good results.

Nadal hopes to celebrate his birthday in the French Open, the second of the four major tournaments, scheduled for the period between May 28 and June 11 next, by crowning her title for the fifteenth time in his professional career and raising his yield of major titles to 23 and ending the partnership.
