Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal are currently at the top of the world hierarchy. And on March 5, the two Spaniards will face each other in an exhibition match. The latter will take place in Las Vegas before the first Masters 1000 of the season in Indian Wells. This meeting was called “The Grand Slam”, like a boxing match. And the similarity does not end there as the two protagonists will battle it out in the legendary MGM Grand Garden Arena, a 17,000-seat hall known above all for hosting important boxing matches: Holyfield – Tyson in 1996, De la Hoya – Mayweather in 2007, Wilder – Fury in 2020. Tickets for this duel go on sale on Friday and should be selling like hot cakes. This performance will be the fourth match between the 36-year-old from Mallorca and the Murciano, 17 years his junior. Rafael Nadal achieved the first two, on clay in Madrid in 2021 (6-1, 6-2) and on hard in Indian Wells in 2022 (6-4, 4-6, 6-3). The 19-year-old world number one won the third, on Madrid soil last May (6-2, 1-6, 6-3).
