NAC Women book impressive first victory in Sittard

NAC goes in search of the early opening goal and succeeds. The match is not even two minutes old when Kamar Laamouz scores the first official NAC Women goal ever: 0-1!

However, the women could not enjoy the lead for long. The feared counter of the home team was brought to the stage. As a result, the Breda goal was cancelled out after one minute: 1-1.

In the opening phase the game ebbs and flows. NAC is good, but not sharp enough in the final phase. The Jong Fortuna Women increasingly use the long ball, which is always nipped in the bud by good defensive work.

It is captain Fleur Mol who takes her team by the hand and shoots the 1-2 into the net. On a pass from Staphanie Coelho Aurélio she manages to outwit the goalkeeper. The hunger of the NAC Women is not yet satisfied and they go in search of even more goals.

After the break, the NAC Women play better and better. The game becomes faster and the combinations really start to flow. The energetic Eva Nguyen dribbles into the penalty area in the 48th minute and gets the chance to double the lead. However, the goalkeeper of the Fortunezen thinks differently and stops her effort.

The home team barely gets a chance and it is a matter of waiting for the next Breda goal and it comes. On a pass from Eva Nguyen, Brigitte Franken manages to put the 1-3 on the scoreboard.

Then Fortuna has to come. Internal duels become fiercer, which eventually results in a yellow card for Sarina Heijblom. With just over twenty minutes left on the clock, Fortuna manages to punish a mistake and score the connecting goal: 2-3.

This gives them new energy, but NAC also steps up a gear. NAC gets a few more chances to extend the score, but it doesn’t get that far. An unfortunate collision in injury time results in the second yellow card for Sarina Heijblom. The red card that follows fortunately has no direct consequences for the next match.

After two matches, the NAC Women are now in a respectable second place on the rankings, with one match less played. Next Saturday, De Graafschap will visit Breda. Kick-off at Sportpark Heksenwiel is at 17:15.
