After a busy artistic career during which she was dubbed “Egypt’s First Star”, leading to her final honor at the seventh session of the Aswan Women’s Film Festival, the artist Nabila Ebeid spoke in an interview with “Sky News Arabia”, during which she expressed her happiness at being honored for all of her work and her cinematic history. She also talked about her artistic career with major artists, writers and directors, as well as her upcoming works. Ebeid said with clear joy: “I was pleased with the special honor from the Aswan Festival, and the celebration of those in charge of it, who contacted me to be honored for my career and my artistic history. Which I have dealt with in my work, and on top of it comes the fairness and appreciation of women.”

She added, “I am happy with every festival or artistic event that honors women and gives them their rights, and I have been a follower of this festival since its first sessions, and all those whose names were honored by it deserve this celebration for their distinguished artistic career.”

When asked about the most important films in her artistic career, which she cherishes, the star Nabila Obaid said: “I am very proud of the movie “Raba’a Al-Adawiya”, which was the beginning of my artistic breakthrough, and then I entered the world of novels with the writer Ihsan Abdel Quddous, then with Waheed Hamed, Mustafa Muharram. and Mahmoud Abu Zaid.
She added: “I love all the characters that I presented with all the great authors, but when we talk about the movie that the audience always talks about with me on the street, there is an extraordinary consensus on the movie “The Dancer and the Politician.” This movie stuck in the audience’s mind, and if it was shown 50 times, They will want to see it and talk about it.”
And Nabila continued in her talk about the great novelist Ihsan Abdel Quddous: “Ihsan Abdel Quddous’s novels are all about women, and in all of his novels, women are not satisfied with their destiny, and she presented with him “The Dancer and the Politician”, “The Dancer and the Drummer”, “The Suicide of the Apartment Owner”, and “Days in Halal.” and others.
She touched on her cooperation with the writer Waheed Hamed, and said: “His characters do not abandon their right no matter what happens, and try to search for themselves and their rights until the end. Among my most prominent works with him are “Al-Takhsheba” and “Revealing the Hidden”. As for the screenwriter Mahmoud Abu Zaid, I presented some of his works. “Dick Al-Barbar”, “Atbat Al-Satt”, and the series “Aunt Nour”.
She added, “Each writer I work with has his own style, so I need long days to talk about my work with each of them.”

Regarding the decline in women’s support films that were presented in the eighties and early nineties, she answered this question, saying: “The writers who were keen to do justice to women have disappeared. Naguib Mahfouz, Ihsan Abdel Quddous and Waheed Hamed have died… Directors have left us such as Hussein Kamal, Ashraf Fahmy and Ali Abdel Khaleq.” And Atef Al-Tayeb, and there are new directors, writers, and actors, but they present characters that are in line with the current generation and the pulse of the street that we live in at the present time.

Obaid commented on the many rumors about the implementation of her autobiography, saying: “My autobiography will be implemented through a book and a series. This was going to happen some time ago, but the matter was disrupted due to circumstances beyond our control, so Corona appeared, and then many events that disrupted that.”
She added: “My autobiography will not be presented in a series in the traditional form, because what was previously presented I did not like, and I would like to present my autobiography in a different way, but this depends on writing it according to my point of view, and my character will not be represented by another artist, because as I explained, I would like to present it in a different way.” different and different from what was presented.”

Obaid told “Sky News Arabia” about her daily life, saying: “I do not prefer to go outside the house if I do not have any engagements or work appointments, especially throughout the past period. She also expressed her keenness to follow the dramas that she does not participate in, saying: “Among the works that I watched recently is the series “The Newton Game”, which I loved very much, and there are many good works presented by the current generation.
New series
Nabila Obaid revealed that she is currently preparing for a new TV series, after her recent experience with the series “Sukar Ziyada”, which she presented with the artist Nadia El-Gendy in 2020.
And about her new experience, she says: “The series is being written at the present time, and it will be directed by director Khaled Al-Hajar, with whom she previously collaborated in the movie “There is nothing but this” in 2006, and the dialogue in the movie was with singing, as it was a different experience that I loved, and I also loved the team. and the actors who participated in it.
