The N65 near Vught is open again in the direction of Den Bosch. The provincial road was closed for almost two hours after an accident involving a passenger car and a truck. The road was intended for traffic that had to be diverted after a fatal accident earlier this Friday afternoon on the A58 near Moergestel. That road will remain closed all evening for cleaning and repair work.
The collision on the N65 happened around four o’clock. A passenger car drove into the back of a stationary truck. The driver of the truck had stopped his vehicle because a truck driver had decided the same for him. This driver doubted whether he could drive under an overpass. Vehicles get stuck more often at this viaduct.
A man and his child were in the passenger car. They suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. The car was badly damaged.
Behind the accident, a traffic jam of 7 kilometers quickly formed from Biezenmortel. By half past five, the traffic jam was less, also because the right lane was released at that time. It has also been very busy in Vught, because traffic was looking for shortcuts.
