Moment of hesitation in French football. On Wednesday, October 28, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron announced the establishment of a new confinement. Unlike last spring, professional football (Ligue 1, Ligue 2 but also National and Women’s D1) is continuing its rights. On the other hand, amateur football (from District to National 2) is imposed in the wake of a one-month break by the French Football Federation (FFF). And it is here that a problem of equity appears in National 2 and National 3, since the reserve teams of professional training can continue to train, while the other clubs are prohibited from operating. And this, despite players also under contract. What raise a real disparity when the championships resume their rights.

According to the Foot Amateur site, the feedback from the various clubs of the fourth and fifth French divisions were heard by the 3F. The body would have indeed sent a directive to announce to the teams of these levels as well as in women’s D2 that they could resume training. But the Federation specifies, however, that only “the teams made up mainly of sportsmen under contract will be able to continue to train with the training partners who are not under contract and coming to supplement the workforce of the team.” On the other hand, the situation is different for the others: “The teams made up on a small scale of sportsmen under contract will not be able to train with all their workforce, only the players under contract will be able to continue to train.” New puzzle in sight for clubs?
