The N25 westbound route of the Dunkettle Interchange has reopened ahead of schedule, following the completion of works at structures ST14 and ST15. The Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade Construction Team expressed their appreciation for the patience of the travelling public during the short-term closure of the N25 Westbound. Hundreds of motorists entering Cork City on Saturday via the Dunkettle Interchange had to be diverted due to major works, but the majority of traffic using the N25 westbound turns to go through the tunnel and progresses via the N40, meaning the diversion route was not overly disruptive. The Dunkettle spokesperson added that future night-time closures are likely to be required at various times to allow for the resurfacing of the N25 route, but no major future diversions are currently planned involving daytime closures of main routes.
