5 days before the end, Bordeaux validates its rise in Proligue following its narrow victory against Vernouillet (27-23), combined with the new defeat of Mulhouse against PSG (32-33).
In addition to the ticket validated by Bordeaux, there were many shocks this weekend. In an opposite dynamic to Mulhouse, Saintes clashed against EVO (36-27) while Pau carried out the right operation at Cournon, obtaining his second away success of the season (27-28). Frontignan for its part did not make quarters in Gonfreville (21-30), while Annecy held out well against the Poitou attack (34-31).
Mulhouse dives, Bordeaux flies to the antechamber of the elite
After its draw conceded in Saintes last week, the BBL was once again upset. This time at home, facing the red lantern Dreux-Vernouillet. During three quarters of the match, Bordeaux stumbles against the visitors’ defense, and on his winter recruit Louis Prevost in goal (12 saves, 44%). However, Xavier Moreau (8/11) is once again there and Nicolas Minne (7/9) released his best game after a complicated first part of the season. It was finally in the last quarter of an hour that the men of Benoît Peyrabout and Philippe Gardent consolidated their lead to win (20-20, 41′; 27-23, 60′). With this victory, the Neo-Aquitains now have a 10-point lead over the 3rd VAP team, Mulhouse, and thus validates their ticket to the Proligue.

This is the new defeat of the ASPTT Mulhouse-Rixheimat home against PSG, which further widens the gap. Sometimes racing far behind for a good part of the match, suffering the onslaught of Noah Lenclume Where Thomas Loppy (7 goals each), the locals managed to come back in the last quarter of an hour (21-27, 37′; 27-28, 44′). Carried by the goals of Mehdi Ighirri (6/12) and the pivot Theo Meyer (7/7), the Alsatians will however fail at a length of their opponent, stumbling on Léo Villain for the 14th time on the siren (32-33).
Saintes repositions itself at the top of the table
For a long time 4th protagonist of the VAP fight, theElite Val d’Oise was forced to bow heavily to Saintes, which fully changes status in 2022. The meeting is however very tight for the first 40 minutes, and Armand Civil and Simon Lavialle once again play their role as gunners on the local side (20-21, 38′). But the visitors will completely detach themselves from their opponents throughout the end of the match, with a Nemanja Grujicic (8/14) once again prolific and a Antoine Jean-Baptiste-Simonne still well served (7/7). The gap goes up to 10 lengths and the victory of the Foxes does not suffer from any dispute (27-36). With this new success, Yannick Verdier’s men reposition themselves in 7th place in the standings, just one point behind Mulhouse, before moving to Gonfreville.

Gonfrevilleprecisely, did not know how to stand up to the armada of Frontignan, in pole position for the second ticket for the second division. And for good reason, the Héraultais left little hope to the Normans. Chief scorer Pierre Fitte-Duval is completely extinguished by the exceptional score of Kévin Mesnard (21 saves), while the danger is brought in all areas of the game by the formation of Renaud Boulanger. The gap exploded at the end of the match, and the FTHB put themselves in the best possible position with the reception of the shock against the CSAV (21-30).
Pau performs the right operation on the outside
At home against Poitiers, the Haut-Savoyards held firm in an offensive encounter. Despite Ibrahima Sall’s 7 goals and the performance of Leeroy Philip (7 goals each), the men of the future Nice coach Raphaël Planchet stand out in the second act. Here too, the Annecians bring danger to all positions, and control their end of the game (34-31).

To end this day, Cournon d’Auvergne fought a high-intensity duel against the fifth in the championship, Paul Usty. Auvergne’s strong men are in very good shape, with Adrien Canoine in attack (12/15) and Enzo Pelissier in the cages (15 saves), but the Palois collective holds the comparison for 60 minutes (26-26, 57′). Guillaume Jamet compares well with his counterpart (14 saves), and it is he who is the author of 2 crucial parries in the last seconds (27-28). Although better ranked, Michel Laborde’s men pocketed two precious points, concluding their second away victory of the season.
