The Oumuamua space object was first captured by astronomers in October 2019 over Hawaii. The name in translation means “messenger”. Due to its cigar shape, the wheel of speculation immediately spun.
At first there was talk of a spaceship, but scientists immediately rejected it due to a lack of evidence. In February this year, Avi Loebla of Harvard University began claiming that it was an alien probe. His colleagues laughed at him for that. Experts from Arizona State University have now come up with a more convincing explanation, the portal warned Space.
They believe that the object arrived in the solar system from another planetary system. It consists of frozen nitrogen as well as the surface of Pluto. According to scientists, the body could have broken off from a similar asteroid.
“Oumuamuu probably fired from the surface of a Pluto-like asteroid outside our solar system with a caliber to another space object. We think it happened half a billion years ago. The collision sent the body toward Earth,” study co-author Steven Desch told the site.
According to scientists, Oumuamua was not flattened when entering the solar system, but energy from the Sun prepared it by up to 95 percent of its volume. It is due to leave our system in about 2040. Research will continue.
