Mystery Russian Tank Found in Louisiana Possibly Linked to War in Ukraine

A Russian tank that may have served in the war in Ukraine has been found in Louisiana in the United States. But how did he get there? Answer.

It’s a very strange story. On Tuesday, April 11, some residents of Louisiana in the United States were able to see a Russian T-90A tank that probably served in Ukraine in the parking lot of a gas station, reports Slate. Two days later, nothing. The vehicle had simply disappeared.

Many gray areas

According to testimonies collected by the American media Newsweek, a group of individuals apparently not belonging to the army would have been forced to leave the tank at the service station, because the truck transporting it had broken down. For the same media, the American Department of Defense declared that it had no information on the reasons which explain the stationing of this tank in the United States.

An American media investigated

On the other hand, the specialized site The Warzone conducted his little investigation. In particular, he questioned experts from Open Source Intelligence (open source intelligence in French), who have access to a lot of public data on the armaments of certain countries.

According to one of the experts, the famous tank would have belonged to the 27th Motor Rifle Brigade of the Separate Guards of the Russian Armed Forces. He would then have been abandoned around September 25, 2022, in Kurylivka, in Kharkiv Oblast. The 92th Ukrainian separate mechanized brigade would then have captured it.

Destination a US Army center

Always according to The Warzone, a tag indicates that the tank arrived by ship in Beaumont, Texas from Gdynia, Poland. Its final destination would be the US Army’s Aberdeen Test Center (ATC). Since the tank left the gas station last Friday, no news. Maybe it will resurface one day?
