It took a while, but now the “Rammstein” fever is gripping the whole planet again! After the Berlin band’s planned tour had to be postponed due to the corona pandemic, members of the rockers repeatedly stated that they used the time for new music. And now, apparently, they will present the fruits of their labor! A mysterious countdown started online on Tuesday – what is it all about?
Will a new music video by Rammstein premiere on Thursday?
On Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the band’s channel on YouTube, a short video clip suddenly appeared in an endless loop. It shows three hooded men in long black robes walking through a waterfall of gray dust, each carrying what appears to be a baby wrapped in a cloth in their arms.

Then the picture disappears – and next to the lettering “Rammstein” you can see a logo that contains the lettering “ZEIT” followed by the date 10.03. and the time 5 p.m.
–At the same time, another video slot was activated, on which the premiere of a video is obviously to take place at the specified time. An announcement can also be seen on the website zeit.rammstein.de. Here, a countdown is running before images of the band members blindfolded walking through sandstorms – and a small button announces a “video premiere”. Anyone who clicks the button lands on the premiere slot on YouTube.

What’s going on there? For the fans it is obvious: after the Berlin musicians repeatedly announced that they had used the Corona period for new music. “They recorded a new album, they did it during the pandemic,” writes a user on YouTube in a comment. Another thinks that the record should even be released before the start of the new or rescheduled tour. Others believe more in the first single release – and others again assume that nothing more than a first teaser on the record will be seen on Thursday.
It’s the culmination of wild speculation as the rumor mill has been churning since the pandemic began. Reason, among other things: In 2020, the band members of “Rammstein” were spotted in the town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence – this is where the La Fabrique Studios are located, where the last album was created. This also matched announcements made by individual band members.

In an interview with the Russian magazine ЖAРA regarding the last record, Lindemann said: “I don’t think it’s the last album. We’ve worked so hard, we’ve got so many songs, that we’re actually ready for the next album.” And drummer Schneider revealed in a Radio Bob! podcast in June that the band would be working on new material soon , also due to the Corona failures. “We still have so many ideas and so many unfinished songs.” However, he also said at the time that nobody knew “whether it would be a record”.
