Hans de Koning does not want to go into too much detail about his contract situation at VVV Venlo. The trainer of the Limburg club has an expiring contract and has not yet made a decision about his future.
De Koning indicates that there are currently more important things at play at VVV than his contract extension. “We (De Koning and Stan Valckx, ed.) Have been sitting for a while this week”, the VVV trainer starts in front of the camera of ESPN. “We have also decided together that we think that the semi-final (in the KNVB Cup, ed.) That is coming has priority. There are also some things going on around me”, De Koning is mysterious.
Hans Kraay Jr. immediately responds to this and asks De Koning what is going on. “That is not important. Because these are things that do not only have to do with VVV”, the trainer continues, saying that there is some interest from outside. “That is also a given in football. If you are doing well …” De Koning does not make any statements about which clubs it concerns. “That’s not about Hans. We have agreed that we will sit down together after the ‘priorities’, after Vitesse – VVV in the cup.”
VVV director Valckx indicated at an earlier stage that the contract extension of De Koning is currently not the highest priority. “That is his right, isn’t it? And so it is my right to see whether you can do other things with a different contract, perhaps have other ambitions. But that is not the case,” concludes De Koning.
