Mysterious Six-Foot-Long Skeleton Found on Australian Beach Sparks Mermaid Speculation

A six-foot-long skeleton was found on a beach in Australia. The rare sighting was on a beach at Keppel Sands in Queensland, the Daily Star reports. The skeleton was first spotted by a young woman named Bobbi-Lee Oates who was walking on the beach. Lee Oates says he couldn’t tell if it was human or some other species. After the picture of the skeleton shared by them on social media went viral, many people came forward and commented that the skeleton could be that of a mermaid.

In images seen online, the skeleton clearly shows the elongated ribs and spinal cord. Also, there is a skull that resembles a human skull. Oates described the creature’s body as about six feet long. Many refer to it as mermaid bones. However, this claim is unfounded as mermaids are fictional characters.

Oates says that at first he thought it was a human skeleton. But they say that when they examined its structure closely, they got confused. They said the creature had long jaws and the creature’s hair was a similar color to that of a cow or a kangaroo, but it was rotting so they couldn’t make out much more clearly. More information will come out only if more scientific studies are done on the skeleton.
